Believing God
how often do we simply lose faith when things get hard? even after winning many great battles (by the grace of God) Abram still asked God “what can you give me since i remain childless..?” (Genesis 15:2) what a question to ask the Lord!!! we so often lose sight of the power and majesty of God and His great works in our lives and fin ourselves asking “what can you REALLY do because ____ (fill in the blank with a poor excuse why you think God can’t provide for you)”
i love God’s response though.. “look up at the sky and count the stars” (Genesis 15:5)hahahaha. He just sits there and humbles Abram like nothing and brings him to his knees. These are spots where we find our true faith in God. the next part is where we see the right way to respond. “Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to Him as righteousness.” (genesis 15:6)
It doesn’t always happen so cleanly with us, but i think it’s such a testament to God’s patience and willingness to show up big and blow us away with His majesty and JUST the right time. SOOOOO GOOOD :)
